Position Purpose:  Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Health and Wellness Center Supervisor/Athletics Administrative Assistant will oversee the Health and Wellness Center five days a week and will serve in an administrative capacity for the Director of Athletics two days a week. We are seeking candidates for a full-time, 10-month position to join our community in September 2024.

Health and Wellness Center Supervisor responsibilities:

(7:30-11:00am, 2 days per week and 7:30am-3:30pm, 3 days per week)

  • Partner with Strength and Conditioning Coach to schedule teams in the weight room.
  • Supervise the fitness center 5 days a week.
  • Clean the weight room daily.
  • Assist with scheduling of the Health and Wellness spaces.
  • Weight room assistant (planning on 2 teams per day, plus walk-up traffic).
  • Assist the Strength and Conditioning Coach with programing (data collection).
  • The ability to coach two seasons at the Upper or Middle School level. 
  • Other duties to be assigned.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:

(11:00am-3:30pm, 2 days per week)

  • Collect and maintain accurate rosters for all MS and US teams. Disseminate roster information to appropriate offices as necessary.
  • Maintain student-athlete information through Veracross, including: rosters, player numbers, captains, managers.
  • Upload rosters and parent information into Team App.
  • Assist in posting scores and updates to social media accounts.
  • Confirm all game schedules with opposing teams.
  • Assist in website maintenance through updating information in Veracross: updating scores, roster information and coaches.
  • Coordinate and communicate contest locations for home games through TeamApp.
  • Triage issues, concerns, questions, and inquiries for the Directors from students, parents, and coaches.
  • Assist with timely communication to appropriate stakeholders regarding contest changes, postponements, or cancellations.
  • Ensure timely communication between coaches and athletics staff on medical eligibility of all student-athletes.
  • Coordinate all department special events, including: Awards Events, Hall of Fame, GA/PC Day.
  • Collect names of award recipients and orders awards. Prepare varsity certificates at the conclusion of each season.
  • Coordinate coaches and captains to establish team spirit stores with equipment vendor.
  • Work with BSN, other vendors, students, coaches, and parents to ensure consistent use of GA Athletics brand.
  • Collect team records at the end of each season and maintain database of GA sport history.
  • Assist Director of Athletics with tracking and monitoring hiring requirements and government clearances.
  • Assist Director of Athletics with scheduling and coordinating meetings.
  • Assist in policy development for the athletics programs and Germantown Academy.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • Specific training and consistent, ongoing professional development in fitness center equipment and programs
  • CPR/AED certified
